MICKEY 9s BIO: "Anybody who knows the Scottish music scene will tell you that Mickey 9s are one of the most exciting bands to see live. The irreverent four piece from Glasgow combines elements of dance, punk and disco into a blistering, genre-defying groove that sends crowds into a frenzy. They are previous Best Live Act Winners at the Scottish Alternative Music Awards.
After releasing their third album, Modern Kunst (in 2021), Mickey 9s found that their heaviest work to date was also the most popular amongst their (now cult) following. Since that album’s release, they have had six sold-out in a row Glasgow gigs in The Garage, Room 2 (twice), King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut, SWG3 and Saint Luke’s, multiple tours around Scotland and the release of their fourth album in May 2024, Impressive Snake (album review).
The band released standalone singles in the first half of 2023, ‘Straight White Male’, ‘Screen Time’ and an amped-up cover of Gang of Four's classic 'At Home He's a Tourist'. Six singles were released from Impressive Snake. Three at the end of 2023: ‘Impossibility’, ‘Dream’ and ‘Moments Go’. The latter was prestigiously chosen by BBC Radio Scotland to be their final Single Of The Week of 2023 on The Afternoon Show. Followed up in 2024 with the releases of ‘Waves of Love’, ‘Who Do You Love?’ and ‘Daedalus’.
The band have released five singles from their next fifth album, Uncanny Valley (due for release in 2025), ‘Song & Dance Man’, their homage to Diego ‘Maradona’, ‘Ursula’, ‘Lager Anthem’ and ‘Wouldst Thou Like to Live Deliciously?’. The sixth single to be released from it is ‘Permo’, on Friday 20th December.
The band were on the road in 2024 on their World Tour of Scotland and played Paisley, Dunfermline, Ayr, Edinburgh, Perth, Falkirk, Galashiels, Aberdeen and finished that tour with a 500 sold out album launch party in Saint Luke’s, Glasgow on Saturday 4th May with DF Concerts and Gigs in Scotland.
This was followed by another Festival Season playing in Scotland and England at Eden Festival (Dumfries & Galloway), Another Fine Fest (Cumbria), Silverburn Festival (Fife), Edinburgh Festival Fringe and headlining Lancaster Music Festival.
The band have just played another 400 sold out hometown Glasgow gig on Saturday 30th November in Room 2. 2025 is the ten year anniversary of the release of debut album, The Party Manifesto, with plans afoot to celebrate that.

MOTOPIA BIO: "A female fronted, energetic, genre defying fourpiece who have been making waves playing live around Scotland and the wider UK festival scene since getting together in 2023. In a recent review with Reservoir Droogs they were described as, "art and music being smashed together in the Hadron Collider - the resulting energy unleashed could be our energy solution for the future." They collaborated with She Drew The Gun, supported Mickey 9s on their Scottish tour and have now released their debut single, ‘Don’t Look Away’, which has achieved national and international airplay. They are working to release an EP in early 2025 and looking forward to another busy UK festival season, as well as working to take their powerful and expressive performances further afield.”
